Cleaner Production Partnership Programme Overview

In April 2008, the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) launched the Cleaner Production Partnership Programme (the Programme) in collaboration with the then Economic and Information Commission of Guangdong Province (now the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province) to encourage and facilitate Hong Kong-owned factories in Hong Kong and Guangdong Province to adopt cleaner production technologies and practices, thereby contributing to improving the environment.

In the light of the environmental benefits brought by the Programme, the Government of the HKSAR has extended the Programme until 31 March 2025 with a funding of $311 million. Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) continues to be the implementation agent for the Programme and acts as the Secretariat for operation of the Programme.
