Cleaner Production Partnership Programme Overview

In April 2008, the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), launched the Cleaner Production Partnership Programme (the Programme) in collaboration with the then Economic and Information Commission of Guangdong Province (now the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province) to encourage and facilitate Hong Kong-owned factories in Hong Kong and Guangdong to adopt cleaner production technologies and practices, thereby contributing to improving the environment.

In the light of the environmental benefits brought by the Programme which complement the country in promoting high-quality development and support green transformation, the Government of the HKSAR will inject an additional HK$100 million to extend a new round of the Partnership Programme for two years until 30 June 2027. Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) continues to be the implementation agent for the Programme and acts as the Secretariat for operation of the Programme.
